After the installation of the 2N power infrastructure was complete, a SCADA system was installed to provide the operations team full visibility of the power being fed around their site.
The system was hosted on a Siemens WinCC SCADA system with signals being fed from discrete devices as well as power meters and UPS's. A complete overview of power flow is available as well as the status of all devices. Full trending and power monitoring are implemented.
The operations team are informed of key events by text messages and emails generated by the system. The location of plant items and faults are immediately available to the operators, as not only is the critical power distribution in the building displayed as an electrical single line diagram, but it is also dynamically linked to cut away views of the building.
